Youth Committee Praised For Newry Park Event
Speaking at the recent Youth Action NI event to support the campaign for the creation of a City Centre Park within the 15 acre Albert Basin area,  Newry City Councillor Liz Kimmins praised all those involved  in organising the event and said that not only would such a development lead the way in the overall urban regeneration vision that she and her Council colleagues shared, but also it would help the health and emotional wellbeing  of all. Cllr Kimmins was accompanied at the event by Newry & Armagh MP Mickey Brady and Conor Murphy MLA.

"I wish to commend all those involved in this Youth Event. Our young people have added a strong voice to the growing call for movement on this project"

Supporting the need for a City Park the Sinn Féin Councillor said,

"The creation of a fully resourced City Park is viewed by most of us as a key element in the key area of urban regeneration. A fully resourced, easily assessable natural Park area would facilitate and encourage healthy lifestyles and emotional well being of all in particular the most vulnerable within our communities. It would also contribute to the social and economic well being of the District"
