Shane O'Neill's Club Notes - 11th June 2017

Senior Men

Following a couple of weeks without a game our senior men return to action on Wednesday night with a home game against Derrynoose. Having been beaten in their last game the senior men will be hoping to return to winning ways on Wednesday night.
 
Minor Boys
After a couple of weeks without a game due to the exam break our minor boys’ amalgamation of Patrick Rankins return to league action on Monday night with an away game against Cullyhanna. The match throws-in at 7.15pm and all players are asked to meet at the club no later than 6.15pm. Last week’s Minor Championship draw saw the minor boys paired against Clan na Gael.
 
U16 Boys
Our U16 boys are training on Monday night, 12th June at 6.00pm ad all Shanes players are asked to meet at the club no later than 5.45pm. Thursday night sees the U16 boys at home to St Enda’s at 7.15pm.
 
U14 Boys
Our U14 boys’ amalgamation of Patrick Rankin’s have a home game on Tuesday at 7.15pm against Tír na nÓg and all players are asked to meet at the club no later than 6.30pm.
 
U14 Girls
The U14 girls have no game next week but will be training as normal.
 
U10s
Our U10 footballers travelled to Poyntzpass on Wednesday evening. Two teams were fielded with well over twenty kids playing, taking part and enjoying some great football. The young U10s are back in action this coming Wednesday evening with an away game against Saval with the game throwing-in at 6.30pm. Training continues on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6.00pm – 7.00pm at the field.
 
Underage Training
Please note that training for all our U6s, U8s, U10s and U12s will take place every Friday night from 6.00pm - 7.00pm at the field. All boys and girls at these age groups are very welcome to come along. The training on Friday evening is on top of their normal weekly training session.
 
Meabh O’Neill’s Camogie
The U14 camogs are in action on Tuesday night away to KIlleavy with the game throwing-in at 7.00pm whilst the senior camogs are at home to Culloville on Wednesday night, also at 7.00pm. Next Saturday the club is hosting an U8 and U10 blitz from 9.30am – 2.00pm. Training for all camogie teams continues as normal over the coming week.
 
Annual U10 Blitz
Our annual U10 football blitz is taking place on Saturday 1st July. With over 20 teams scheduled to take part it promises to be a great day’s football. Anyone interested in helping out on the day - refereeing, score-keeping, time-keeping etc - please contact Brendy Osborne.
 
Gumshields
The Armagh Minor Board have asked clubs to remind all underage players and their managers/mentors that the wearing of gumshields is compulsory.
 
Lotto
Last week’s winning lotto numbers were 1, 3, 4 & 23. There was no jackpot winner and 1 x match three winner. The jackpot now stands at a very impressive £5,850.
 
New Community Walkway
The new Community Walkway around our club grounds is now open for use by ALL members of the community, both young and old, male and female. The walkway gives everyone the opportunity to walk in a safe and friendly environment all year round. So, if you fancy a power-walk or just a leisurely stroll why not avail of our new community facility.
