Shane O'Neill's Club Notes - 10th Sept 2017
U12 Girls – Division 2 Championship Winners
Pride of place this week goes to our U12 girls who clinched the Division 2 championship on Friday night with a hard-fought narrow one-point win over Dromintee on Friday evening, 1 – 5 to 0 – 7.
Both sets of players put on a brilliant display of football with some great scores and courageous defending however it was the young Shane's girls who emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins. This is the first year that some of these young girls have been playing football and its great testament to all the work their manager James Feehan and his management team have put in that saw them picking up some silverware to end the season in style. Well done to all the girls, not only on Friday night’s win but for all their hard work and effort throughout the year. Well done also James and everyone who helped him in any way this year with the team and special word of thanks to all the parents for their continued support and commitment.

Senior Men
St Paul’s will be our senior men’s opponents in the quarter-final of the championship next week-end with date, time and venue still to be confirmed.

Minor Boys
Last Monday saw our minor boys’ amalgamation record a deserved three-point win over Granemore, 2 – 12 to 1 – 12 to qualify for the Division 2 championship final. The Rankins made a brilliant start to the game and found themselves leading 2 – 3 to no score after fifteen minutes but by half-time Granemore trailed by just four points, 2 – 6 to 0 – 8. The second-half was a closely fought affair which saw Granemore draw level with then minutes left on the clock but the Rankins side dug deep to finish the game the stronger side and outscore their opponents three points to one to claim the win. The lads are now scheduled to play Maghery in the championship on Wednesday 27th September in the Athletic Grounds at 8:15 pm.

Lotto
Last week’s winning lotto numbers were 11, 26, 29 & 31. There were no jackpot winners and 1 x lucky dip winner. The jackpot now stands at a very impressive £6,500 so why not get yourself a ticket…. if you’re not in, you can’t win.
