Milne welcomes start of £300,000 resurfacing scheme on Glenshane Road

Sinn Féin MLA Ian Milne has welcomed news that a £300,000 major carriageway and hard shoulder resurfacing scheme on the A6 Glenshane Road near Maghera is due to start.

Mr Milne said:

“This investment by my party colleague and Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard will improve the strength and surface quality of this busy trunk road and address ongoing maintenance problems associated with the road.

“I welcome news that a two-way traffic flow will be in operation as it will help to minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses on the Glenshane Road during the period of resurfacing.

"The resurfacing work, which will extend from the junction with the Glen Road to the junction with the Fallaghloon Road, is due to commence on Monday 5th September and is expected to be completed on the week commencing 17th October."
