Job Club comes to Newry Library

Staff from the Department for Communities’ Jobs & Benefits Office (JBO), in Newry, in partnership with LibrariesNI, are pleased to announce they will once again be hosting a Job Club every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 September between 9.30am – 12.30pm at Newry Library.

The Job Club aims to help participants develop strong job search techniques including setting realistic and achievable job goals, CV building, job application forms (including online forms) and, most importantly, practicing interview skills. One to one and group sessions are involved.  The Job Club runs throughout the year.  It is free and open to everyone who wants to return to work.

Encouraging local people to avail of the Job Club to help them get into work, Davy Doyle, Newry JBO Manager, said: “The Job Club team from the local office will be available every Tuesday and Thursday at the Library to provide information, advice and very practical support to help people out of work gain the confidence and job search skills to get them back into work that meets their needs.

The Newry Job Club is a friendly place, set in an informal environment with the chance to meet other people in similar circumstances seeking work, availing of the valuable support from our team of advisors who provide the tools and techniques needed to find work.

“The interactive sessions have proved to be both popular and very successful in helping local people find work. Our team will also advise on how to search for vacancies on www.jobcentreonline.com.”
