IncredABLE - 20th Anniversary

A brand new look for Enable NI marking 20 incredABLE years

From humble beginnings in 1997 as the Young Fit and Able group, to becoming one of the leading service providers of social and recreational opportunities for people with a learning disability and/or autism across the Southern Health and Social Care Trust; Enable NI, had plenty to talk about as it marked its 20th anniversary with the unveiling of a new look brand identity.

On Saturday 9th September, over 200 people, including ABC Lord Mayor Gareth Wilson, gathered for a celebratory launch party and were treated to an array of fun and games, entertainment and Hog Roast BBQ before Director, Nigel Hampton, welcomed everyone to share in a reflection on 20 years’ service delivery before unveiling the organisations new name and logo “incredABLE”.

The charity hopes the change of name will help it to achieve the ambitious goals set out in its strategic plan and will be warmly received by service users. Commenting on the new brand identity, Director Nigel Hampton said “While the core vision and mission of our organisation remains the same, we believe that this new look will help us present a forward-looking and dynamic image to the participants who use our service, their families and our many stakeholders. We found that people wanted a more tangible icon that could be used to demonstrate their support and we hope we have achieved that”

Project Co-ordinator Gemma McKinney, who managed the brand project added “the new strapline ‘inspire, empower, include’, aims to capture the essence of incredABLE, It’s our creative approach to service provision that means the individuals we support can connect with others, express themselves and grow in confidence. The brand refresh is a vital step towards raising our profile within the sector.”

Long standing Board member Edwin Graham who attended the celebration was delighted with how the day progressed commenting “We know demand for support is growing and it’s important our brand keeps pace with demand, whilst reflecting the innovative support we provide that enables people to live more independent lives. Currently not all individuals and families are aware that we can provide services to them, and we know that there are people missing out on receiving vital support. Our refreshed brand reflects that our services, such as short breaks and Bespoke Individual and Group Support, are equipped for people with a range of needs.”

The charity’s new visual identity precedes the launch of its exciting new five-year Big Lottery Funded We are incredABLE project, which will offer a range of meaningful day opportunities to young people aged 18 – 25 years with a learning disability and /or autism who live within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.

The launch also provided the opportunity to showcase the range of projects and Services that are provided by incredABLE from 8+ years, including Adult Short Breaks, ASD Skills programme, Holidays and Camping, B.I.G Service, Youth Empowerment, working with One Eighty and much more..
