Hundreds Turn Out to Hear Gerry Adams Deliver Peter Corrigan Lecture
Over 500 people recently attended the annual Peter Corrigan lecture which was held in Armagh City Hotel. The annual lecture commemorates the former Sinn Féin member who was assassinated by a pro-British death squad on 25th October 1982. The Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams who was imprisoned along with Peter in both the Maidstone Prison Ship and in Long Kesh was the guest speaker.

Speaking after at the event, Armagh Sinn Féin Councillor Garath Keating said,

"We're delighted to have our Party President Gerry Adams TD with us in Armagh to deliver the annual Peter Corrigan lecture. With standing room only, the large turnout is testament to both Peter's memory and in solidarity with the Corrigan family who were also in attendance. As Gerry pointed out, Peter Corrigan was both a republican and community activist who led from the front, someone who was tireless is his resolve to bring about a change in society by standing against discrimination and oppression. We must continue to remember Peter and everything he represented, but his lasting legacy will be secured by bringing about the reunification of our country and its people with the realisation of the 1916 Proclamation.
