Adults with learning disabilities from across the Southern Trust area recently participated in a Fit 4 U 2 Team Building Day at Craigavon Leisure Centre.
Fit 4 U 2 provides physical activities and sports for people with learning disabilities.
At this event, 25 participants enjoyed a range of team building activities, including ice breaker games, archery, skittles bowling alley, mini assault course and team challenge games, facilitated by Mobile Team Adventure.
Rhonda Richardson, Fit 4 U Co-ordinator, Southern Trust, explains “Fit 4 U 2 aims to empower people with learning disabilities to improve their health and wellbeing through participation in a range of day time physical activity and sports. This event was a great opportunity for participants from the different areas to come together, have fun and try some new activities that were tailored to meet their needs.”
Emily McCrory, participant, explains “It was a really good experience, I enjoyed meeting new people and really enjoyed the mini assault course and skittles.”
Fit 4 U 2 is now operating in five Leisure Centres across the Southern Trust area, including Armagh, Dungannon, Craigavon, Banbridge and Newry.
