The AGM will take place on Monday 23 October 2017, at 8 pm in the Thierafurth Inn, Kilcoo. As you are all aware we are moving into a big year ahead, with our 25 years anniversary and the Feile taking place in Down. It is important that we have all our positions filled and we look forward to new members coming on board to our committee.

 

Remember you are the county board, and you elect your officers, but we will be asking for more help. Please do not put a nominee on without asking the person first. 

 

Down ladies U15 Academy continues to become more successful every week. Great to see new faces joining in. Academy continues this Saturday 14th October at Ballykinlar GAC. Girls to arrive 11:20 am finishing at 1 pm. Ulster blitz on 28th October in Mid Ulster Sports Arena Cookstown. Transport will be available. All girls to confirm availability to attend blitz next Saturday to allow for planning. All outstanding registration forms/monies to be brought also on Saturday.

 

The last session of the U13 Academy took place on Saturday 7th October at Dundrum GAC. With as many as 12 clubs being involved in club championships, girls from those clubs were excused from attending. Those that did attend worked very hard throughout in preparation for the Ulster Blitz on Saturday 14th October at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown, with Down entering 6 teams for girls born in 2004 and 2005. The opposition will be multiple teams from Antrim, Monaghan, Derry and Donegal. Three teams will play in the morning with a further three teams playing in the afternoon. Bus pick-up times and locations will be published during the week.

 

Trials for those girls born in 2004 gets underway on Sunday 22nd October from 1 pm to 4 pm, with the venue to be confirmed. Two further trial sessions are also pencilled in for 9:30 am to 12 noon on both Saturday 28th November and Saturday 4th November. The panel for the 2018 U14 Ulster Championship will be chosen following the last trial with six training sessions planned before the Christmas Break.
