Castlewellan GAC Notes 13th August 2017

Well done to our Year 6 Boy Footballer's who this morning took part in the Michael Hanley Tournament in Bryansford. We fielded two teams and the boys had a great mornings football. Thank you to Bryansford GAC for the invitation, and well done for organising such a well-run tournament.

Our team comprising of our older boys in the panel won the Shield Competition with our younger group being put out in the quarter finals of the Plate Competition by the eventual winners Clonduff. Brilliant performances by all the kids. Well done lads.

Our Senior Ladies Camogie Championship game has been changed.
We now play Bredagh In Drumaness on Wednesday 16th at 7.30pm.
We would to ask all parents and anyone else to come out and support the girls - They deserve your support folks - let's get out and give the girls a hand.

U12 girls participated in Ulster Blitz on Saturday in Killeavy Girls had a win over Armagh Harps, drew with Dungiven and were defeated by Shercock Cavan & St. Enda's Omagh. The girls enjoyed the experience of playing   teams from outside the county.

Well done to the senior footballers who advance to the best round of the championship. This came after a 1:17 to 1:8 victory over Bredagh.

On Sunday, our Senior hurlers take on Clonduff in Laitroim at 13:00. Again, it would be great to get out and support the team and management.

On Sunday, we ran a bus to the All Ireland Hurling Semi Final between Waterford and Cork. Everyone had a great day and enjoyed the game. On the way into the ground we met legendary GAA commentary Micheal O Muircheartaigh.

Club gear can now be ordered. Forms can be collected in the club rooms; the final order will be going on September 10th.
