Trainor's showed quadruple winners CWC A that they might just have a rival this season. Last season CWC swept all before them but Trainor's look like they could give the champions something to think about.

Harvey Lavelle and Paddy Clarke returned for CWC in an ominously strong looking CWC side. Trainor's had Singles winners James O'Hagan and Seamus McVerry in their line up along with quadruple winner Paddy Tavey.

Liam Bradley knew what he was up against when he was named 1st on the Trainors team sheet. None other than Kieran 'The Machine' McMahon. Bradley didn't get a sniff as McMahon took his personal league tally to played 4, won 4 and 1-0 CWC A.
Dee Kearney went into this game on the back of two defeats and through to form made it 3 looses in a row but he was favourite against relative newcomer Eoghan Magee. Young Eoghan doesn't try to bore players to sleep like his Dad. He likes to pot balls. He potted more than Dee Kearney  did to put CWC A 2-0 up.
There were some good match-ups on the scorecard and Paddy Tavey taking on a team mate of last season and CWC legend Harvey Lavelle was one to look forward to. As much as Tavey is a superb player the ultra experienced Lavelle is still a cut or two above the rest and it was 3-0 to CWC as they slipped into cruise control.
Niall McVerry is in determined mood this season. His potting has rarely been doubted but his temperament has. He's flourishing in this captain role and he demolished the hapless Bernie Magee to reduce the score to 3-1.
Seamus McVerry had the best win of the night make the score 3-2. Pat Brady lost only one single league game and just like a baldy tyre he's got two from his opening four games. McVerry played some solid pool and now the match was all to play for.
Two former individuals winners clashed in the 6th frame of the night. James O'Hagan v the brilliant Paddy Clarke. This was a high quality game with some terrific pool but it was O'Hagan that shocked the current singles champ to tie the scores 3-3.
Cathal McCoy returned this week only to find Raymie McKenna in hot form  and a big brush from Raymie gave CWC a 4-3 lead in Trainor's.
It was the battle of two Seamus' in the final frame. Graham for Trainor's and the ultimate anchor man McGeoghegan for CWC A. McGeoghegan has been responsible for so many trophies for his teams its incredible. He has been an unsung hero his whole pool career but after that big build up it was Graham that edged a nervy final frame for a share of the spoils.
It may only be the start of the season but Niall McVerry will be absolutely delighted with that result. It was him telling CWC A you have opposition this season. No more free rides to the the title.
It could well be a false dawn but Trainor's are top of the league and the quadruple winners were unable to knock them off their perch - This Time!

Whitecross picked up their 1st win of the league at the 4th time of asking.
Whitecross led 3-1 and as per usual looked like they would throw away another healthy lead. It's become a bit of a regular occurance for the South Armagh side to collapse after a good start. Shane Phelan picks his strongest players early leaving a weak backline so only time will tell if this strategy will bring results.
Cathal Phelan has lost 3 out of his 1st 4 games after another defeat Thursday night. Mark Pentony is a quality player and he gave Nan's the lead out in the Sticks.
Michael Feenan, Barry Shields and Shane Phelan fired Whitecross into a 3-1 advantage with some luck and a slice of good pool.
Pat McClenaghan, Stephen Sherry and Mal McGuire suffering away day defeats.
Leigh McAlinden pulled it back to 3-2 when he defeated an out of sorts Alan Burke.
Whitecross retained their two frame advantage when Gareth McCann took out a clever finish against Mark Maguire.
Gavin Malone was unable to bag both points when Jimmy O'Hare inflicted a 3rd league defeat on the former Whitecross captain. 4-3.
It was left to Brian O'Neill to pick up not only a rare win for himself but also a rare win for Whitecross. He was taking on an inform Rony O'Reilly who had 3 wins from 3 games. O'Neill held his nerve to bag Whitecross their 1st brace of points. Both teams will need to improve or they will have a tough season at the base of the table.

Hustlers are still without a league win but they will be delighted to have clawed back a 4-1 deficit to steal a draw in their City Derby match with McGuigan's Bar.
Gerard McGuigan and the much travelled Connor O'Hare put McGuigan's 2-0 up in McGuigan's Bar.
Barry Murphy pulled a frame back before Martin Conroy and Damien 'Bud' Flanagan put McGuigan's in a very commanding 4-1 lead.
Ray Magee and the superb Ciaran O'Neill pulled it back to 4-3. It was non other than the legendry Kevin Magee that salvaged an unlikely draw and the Hustlers 2nd point of the season. McGuigan's throwing that game away denied them outright 2nd place in the league. They now share it with CWC A.

McGovern, Bagnall, Irvine, Devlin and Fletcher brought Bears back down to earth with a massive bump. Fresh from beating CWC Bears got a reality check when the lost the match 5-0 in Orchard Bar.
