CWC A romped home out in the homeland of the HillBillies Whitecross. The Working Men's Club welcomed back Raymond McKenna to the party. McKenna defected from the smallest Pool League in the Country to the biggest Pool League in the Country. It was a no brainer for McKenna and he got straight down to work to bring all 4 trophies back to CWC for the 2nd year in a row.
It was no surprise to see McKenna back in competitive pool again but it was a surprise was to see League Secretary  Micky Cunningham joining the quadruple winners. Playing with Hustlers it looked like he was happy being a mid-table player but it looks now like he is hungry for more trophies. Only the future will tell us whether he will  be a help CWC to  there 3rd Title in a row  or a hindrance but he will certainly have plenty to say even if it's not on the baize.

Shane Phelan on his home table was taking on the now familiar Paddy Clarke in the nights opening frame. Phelan had his chances against Clarke in last seasons Cunningham Cup final but not this time. Clarke hit destroy mode and blasted Phelan off the table.
Cathal Phelan had a chance against former team mate Raymie McKenna after the latter snookered himself on the black when on an 8 ball clearance. Phelan couldn't tie the returning McKenna up and it was 2-0.
Gareth Mc Cann could offer little resistance and Kieran McMahon made it 3-0 to the league champions.
When CWC legend Harvey Lavelle knocked his yellow off the table he gifted the frame to Michael Feenan. The Whitecross Tornado or Tomato to some of his fans had a few drop in's to bring the score back to 3-1.
Alan Burke was playing the ring rusty Micky Cunningham in 5th frame of the night. Burke used all his negative tactics to thwart Cunningham and Whitecross were now back in the match at 3-2.
Incredibly Whitecross missed a glorious chance to level. Mickey O'Hanlon was on for the 1st break finish of his illustrious career but for some reason turned down a sitter of a black and opted for a safety shot. Needless to say Pat Brady thought it was Christmas come early and he severely punished the reluctant O'Hanlon to make it 4-2.
A loose shot from Gavin Malone was enough to give Bernie 2 shots and the frame that sealed both points. Magee was calm and assured as he mopped up for 5-3.
Seamus McGeoghegan destroyed Whitecross debutant John O'Hanlon for a comprehensive 6-2 win for CWC A.

Nan's Rams last seasons Division 1 winners and also Runners up McGuigan's Bar both got draws for the 2nd week in a row.
Nan's had the tricky task of Orchard bar to negotiate. The City side got off to a flying start taking a 2-0 lead.
Mark Pentony and the superb Pat McClenaghan seeing of the out of sorts Mervyn Kernaghan and Lee Irvine.
Jamie Fletcher and the excellent Brendy Devlin pulled the match level at the halfway point. Stephen Sherry and Mal Maguire losing out.
Tony McGovern had a disappointing season last time out but he played some good pots when he defeated Leigh McAlinden to give Orchard the lead for the 1st time in the match. It was McGovern's 2nd league win in a row and he could well be a big player for Orchard this season.
Micky Lennon drew the sides level when he beat newcomer Liam Turley for 3-3.
PJ McDanial is a tough nut to crack and this time it was the ultra attacking Andrew Chan who found out. 4-3 to Orchard.
Noel Brown was a brilliant signing for Orchard last season but he tastes his 1st league defeat of the season against the reliable Rony O'Reilly to salvage a well earned draw in the Orchard.

Bears who got relegated last season only managed a reprieve at the very last minute to hang on to their elite status. They'll be fairly happy to have picked 2 draws from their opening 2 league games.
Just like Nan's newly promoted McGuigan's raced into a 2-0 lead. The experienced Gerald McGuigan and smart potting Martin Conroy doing the damage for the Monaghan Street side. Eugene McDermot and Garry Powell the two Bears players that will need to up their game drastically.
Seamus 'The Snail' Keenan and Paul Murphy levelled for Bears after good wins over Dusty O'Hagan and Damian Flanaghan for 2-2.
Eddie Heaney couldn't make it 2 wins from 2 games when he fell to the cue of super quick and now super accurate Pat Byrne. Byrne has been welcomed back to our league after leaving the minnow league for greener pastures. It was now 3-2 McGuigan's but not for long.
Anthony Morgan tied things up with 2 frames to go with some terrific shooting against John Hogan.
Adrian 'Oz' Holman put Bears on the cusp of their 1st league win of the season when he out potted Mike McArdle.
But it just wasn't to be for the home side Bears. The fairly reliable Paddy Heaney was out fought by the tactically astute Paul McAreavey.
This was a cracking match and nobody can doubt a draw was the fair result.
